Verifone Appoints Dr. James C. Castle to Board of Directors

Verifone, Inc., the leading provider of payment solutions, today announced the appointment of Dr. James C. Castle to the board of directors.

“Jim Castle brings a wealth of operational experience and will be a valuable asset in shaping the future growth of Verifone,” said Douglas G. Bergeron, chairman and CEO of Verifone.

Dr. Castle was formerly the chairman and CEO of DST Systems of California, Inc. (formerly USCS International, Inc.), a worldwide provider of computer services to the cable industry and a provider of billing services to the cable, telephony, financial services and utility industries. Previously, Dr. Castle was president and CEO of Teradata Corporation, until that company merged with NCR Corporation, a subsidiary of AT&T. Earlier, Dr. Castle was chairman, president, CEO and a director of Infotron Systems Corporation.

Dr. Castle earned a Ph.D. in computer and information sciences from the University of Pennsylvania, a M.S.E.E. from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.S. from the United States Military Academy. Dr. Castle is also a director of ADC Telecommunications, Inc., the PMI Group, Inc. and Southwest Water Company, Inc.
