Verifone Vx 510 To Deliver Electronic Mobile Top-Up Across Middle East

London & Dubai - May 23, 2006 - Verifone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced that 10,000 of its Vx 510 countertop payment solutions will be deployed throughout the Middle East region to support the roll-out of a new electronic mobile phone top-up service. Leading regional mobile distributor Ring Jordan, a subsidiary of Orascom Telecom Holding Co., and IST leading regional e-voucher software company and phone top-up provider, have placed the major order for the Vx 510 systems with Verifone International Partner, EastNets.
Verifone’s Vx Solutions products are currently being deployed for payment and value-added applications – including loyalty and electronic top-up – in many countries across the Middle East region, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Egypt, Jordan, and other Gulf States. Verifone will promote its Vx Solutions family at the forthcoming Cards Middle East 2006 being held at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai, from 22 to 23 May.

The Vx 510 countertop payment solution offers superior performance for payment and value-added applications, reducing transaction times to just a few seconds. Part of the Vx Solutions family, it leverages existing SoftPay and Verix applications to allow merchants to get up and running quickly and efficiently.
The Vx 510 includes a smart card reader to handle data-intensive EMV transactions plus a choice of dial or dial + Ethernet connectivity, 0 or 3 SAMs, and 3 MB or 6 MB of memory.
