Verifone Vx 670 To Deliver Fast, Secure Mobile Payment To Hotels And Restaurants Across Sweden
Industry-Leading Portable Payment Platforms To Be Offered Exclusively To 4,400 Swedish Hotel and Restaurant Association Members
June 29, 2006
London - June 29, 2006 - Verifone Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: PAY) today announced that Verifone’s International Partner - Point Transaction Systems of Sweden - has reached an exclusive agreement with the Swedish Hotel and Restaurant Association to provide the association’s 4,400 members with access to the new Verifone Vx 670 portable payment platform and other Verifone payment solutions.
The Vx 670 is the industry’s smallest all-in-one integrated wireless handheld payment device. The Wi-Fi or GPRS-equipped Vx 670 is ideal for virtually any mobile point of service and highly suited to the growing pay-at-the-table application, where systems are handed over to patrons to swipe or insert their own cards and enter PINs, as well as to delivery operations.
“Verifone’s latest generation payment solutions will provide our members with a unique opportunity to increase the security around transactions. The new and modern systems are very practical and well suited to fit our members’ needs,” says Clemens Wantschura, Director of Development and Organisation, SHR.
Nigel Bidmead, Managing Director of Verifone EMEA, added, “Hotel and restaurants are seeking more convenient, sleeker and faster ways to enhance the services they offer their customers. By providing Pay-Anywhere performance in the palm of the hand, Verifone’s Vx 670 provides tangible benefits for customers and is perfectly suited to the unique requirements of the European market, particularly in hospitality environments.”
The newest addition to Verifone’s Vx Solutions, the Vx 670 is the smallest all-in-one handheld payment device that is specifically for wireless, customer-facing payment. Verifone’s patent-pending MAXui design provides the largest user interface for an all-in-one payment system – with a large, white backlit display and large blue backlit keys. In addition, its purpose inspired design – focused on real world usage – is rugged, drop- resistant, and spill-resistant to hold up to the most demanding conditions.
The Vx 670 is also the first all-in-one portable payment system to offer WPA-level encryption security, the benchmark for enterprise wide Wi-Fi security.
