Battersea Evolution is the most dynamic events space in London. Throughout the year the venue plays host to around 60 events with the capacity to hold up to 4,000 attendees at any one time. By far, the most popular time of year is November and December when holiday parties have the venue booked solid.
Battersea Evolution, Quantum Leap Events and Smart Hospitality, decided to move to a wireless pay-at-the-table solution to improve customer service and enable Chip and PIN payment.
Battersea Evolution selected the Vx 670 because of its WiFi capabilities, ease of use and small, sleek design. Also a plus is the Vx 670’s robustness, as it is spill-resistant and drop-resistant up to three feet on a concrete floor.
The Vx 670s at Battersea Evolution use Wi-Fi provided by Verifone partner, Europacom, with acquiring by Lloyd’s TSB Cardnet, one of Verifone’s FSO (Full Service Offering) clients. FSO customers benefit from Verifone-provided management services, repair, delivery, consultancy and helpdesk.
On a busy night, Battersea Evolution will have 60+ servers working the floor who are responsible for collecting payment for drinks, food or even charity auctions and raffles. Training staff to use the new Vx 670s has been hassle-free and with the addition of a charging cradle for each device, employees find it easy to keep battery life topped up.
Customers and staff alike have been pleased with the super-fast transaction times. Many servers also praised the easy-to-read display on the Vx 670, as employees are usually working in dimly lit conditions.
