Pay-at-the-Table for Improved Customer Service


The previous EPoS system forced serving staff to leave the table to clear bills. T.G.I. FRiDAY’S required a system that would allow serving staff to close each customer’s bill at the table and improve statistical reporting. 


Verifone’s wireless Chip and PIN solution uses a Wi-Fi connection to connect the POS till system, and operates using Verifone’s PAYware Ocius software. The “Pay at Table” solution is part of the PAYware Ocius managed service. 

An advanced web-based reporting tool enables T.G.I. FRiDAY’S to analyse card payment transactions and complete the cycle to create a total card payment processing solution. T.G.I. FRiDAY’S also benefits from the large technical support team provided by Verifone. 


T.G.I. FRiDAY’S Wi-Fi payment solution, developed by Verifone, allows the payment device to be taken anywhere in the restaurant to offer “Pay at Table” service. This functionality allows any member of T.G.I. FRiDAY’S staff to request a bill via any device, at any table, by simply searching and selecting the table number. The POS will automatically send the full bill details to the device for payment via Wi-Fi connection. Itemised bills and receipts are printed from the Chip and PIN machine to help increase transaction payment times and improve customer service.  The solution has the functionality to accept added gratuity and split payments, should a table of customers wish to pay separately.

The PAYware Ocius Vx 670 Wi-Fi is an integrated solution which has resulted in a substantial reduction in discrepancies from credit card fraud for T.G.I. FRiDAY’S.
